Discover the benefits of PinPoint, a versatile property risk assessment tool which combines geospatial and peril datasets to assess new risk, existing policiesand claims data.
Sciemus works in partnership with Ordnance Survey to geocode a property to a precise location and incorporates data from established providers to identify the perils associated with that location.
The Risk Wheel alerts users to specific property risk by displaying risk scores for each peril. The Risk Wheel also alerts users to risk aggregation and claims accumulation.
Sciemus can precisely geocode your existing policies and claims data to assess an existing book of risk against selected perils, identify aggregation risk, claims hot spots and assist with business development.
PinPoint is scalable to incorporate multiple perils including flood, storm, subsidence, arson and theft, The most popular data sets are flood, wind storm and subsidence.
PinPoint uses 3rd party data to assess the risk of flood at property level working with both JBA and the Environmental Agency. The JBA scoring system combines the predicted depth, extent and return period for river, coastal and surface water flood at property level. Properties are assessed and can be categorised as accept, refer or decline using agreed criteria.
Sciemus Storm Scores are derived from Met Office data using our proprietary methodology to predict wind speeds at all points of interest to the user.
A correlation matrix has been developed governing the probabilistic relationship between the wind speeds at different Met Stations. The wind speeds have subsequently been modelled and adjusted to account for local conditions
PinPoint uses 3rd party data to assess subsidence risk providing an assessment of the potential for a geological deposit to create financial insurance loss due to ground movement. Location based scoring incorporates the combined effects of multiple hazards and links these to a postcode database.
